Another case that captured my attention for German language gig but turned out to be another dime and dozen English-required service! As such, I was all pumped up in expectation of using my rusty Getman in the beginning only to settle with English ... simply because Korean clients' counterpart spoke only English. The former thought she and he would speak to a German speaking employee of their rental car company. My disappoint notwithstanding, I preceded with my professional language soberly. A Korean couple was in predicament and in panic mode. They were misguided by rental car employee and then lack of fuel specification on fuel inlet cap. As a result, they pumped diesel fuel into patrolum tank. Terrified of possible damages imflicted on rental car engine, they scrambled to contact somebody with information on claim, partitioning of responsibility, and so on. Besides, because they were still in mid-travel mode, they also scrambled to place otherwise easy phone calls. Imagine you find yourself in the middle of nowhere whose local language is untokown to you! Because I pitied their predicament and magnitude of their anxiety, I shuttled back and fro betwern them and rental car company representative calmly and patiently. It took more than one hour and three BBB calls until things were clarified and the couple recovered their lucidity and composure. I am glad I could help this poor couple to ease their consternation. But my mind was still screaming "WHAT ABOUT ME!" I am serving BBB cause with GERMAN, not English! Haha!
